Olea Camping

Challenge

Olea Camping is located on the island of Pag, in an environment that combines rocky terrain, maritime influence, and wind exposure — all factors that pose a serious challenge for deploying reliable outdoor IT infrastructure. The campsite needed quality WiFi coverage across the entire grounds, including pitches, sanitary facilities, and common areas, as well as a video surveillance system to ensure the safety of guests and property. The previous solution did not provide sufficient capacity for the growing number of guests who expect a fast and stable internet connection.

Solution

We designed and implemented the complete network backbone for the campsite using fiber optic and copper cabling to ensure redundant and stable connectivity across all parts of the grounds. For WiFi coverage, we deployed weather-resistant outdoor access points, positioned according to a detailed coverage plan we developed based on an on-site survey. Each access point was configured for optimal performance in a dense environment with a large number of simultaneous users.

A captive portal enables guests to easily authenticate and access the internet via their mobile devices, with the option to choose different speeds and access packages. The video surveillance system was installed at key points throughout the campsite — entrance, reception, parking area, and common spaces — with high-resolution IP cameras that allow remote real-time monitoring.

Results

Following the implementation, Olea Camping offers stable WiFi coverage across the entire campsite with capacity for hundreds of simultaneous users. Guests can access the internet within seconds of arrival thanks to the intuitive captive portal. The video surveillance system has significantly improved campsite security, and reception staff and management have access to real-time footage via a centralized platform. The entire infrastructure is designed for easy scaling as the campsite expands its capacity in the future.
